“Chapi” is more than just a name – it is a story, a cultural symbol, and the inspiration behind the creation of Chapi Tours.
Chapi is a unique traditional musical instrument of the Raglai people – an ethnic minority living in remote mountain peaks in Gia Lai Province, in Vietnam’s Central Highlands. Their population is small, and in the past they lived completely isolated from electricity, technology, and modern forms of entertainment or cultural exchange. In such humble conditions, the Raglai created the Chapi – a simple instrument made from bamboo and a few strings, yet capable of producing clear, rustic, and deeply emotional sounds that reflect the soul of the Central Highlands.

The sound of the Chapi brings joy, optimism, and a sense of harmony to the community. Its melodies connect people, spread tranquility, and nurture love for the village – even in times of scarcity. It is this simplicity, enriched with meaning and cultural value, that makes the Chapi a symbol of genuine happiness and authentic heritage.
And that is why we chose the name Chapi for our company.
Chapi Tours aims to carry the spirit of the Chapi instrument into every travel experience we create:
- Genuine joy
- Peaceful and calming experiences
- Unique and unforgettable character
- Excitement in discovery
- Connection with local communities and cultures
We believe that travel is more than moving from one destination to another — it is a journey that touches deeper values, just like the Chapi’s melody echoing through the highlands: simple, yet profoundly felt.
With this name, we hope that every journey with Chapi Tours brings travelers happiness, connection, and beautiful memories — just as the gentle sound of the Chapi continues to resonate in the lives of the Raglai people to this day.
