Hanoi Afternoon Highlights – Culture & Heritage Half-Day Tour

12:15 | Hotel Pick-Up: Our guide will greet you at your hotel before taking you to a charming Vietnamese restaurant.

(For guests joining without lunch, your pick-up will be around 13:30 instead).

12:30 – 12:45 | Vietnamese Lunch (Optional)

Enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch featuring regional flavors prepared with fresh ingredients. Vegetarian and dietary-friendly options are available upon request.

After lunch, we heading to Tran Quoc Pagoda where your afternoon tour begins. Tran Quoc Pagoda, elegantly standing on Golden Fish Island beside West Lake. Built in the 6th century, this ancient pagoda has witnessed more than 1,400 years of Hanoi’s spiritual life.

Walk through the peaceful courtyard, admire its iconic stupa tower, and take in the beautiful reflections of the lake.

Continue to the Temple of Literature, an iconic symbol of Vietnam’s dedication to learning and culture.
Founded in 1070, the temple once served as the Royal Academy, where scholars studied Confucianism and prepared for imperial examinations.

As you wander through its shaded courtyards and ancient pavilions, you’ll discover stories of Vietnam’s greatest scholars and the values that shaped the nation.

Your final stop is Hoa Lo Prison, a place filled with emotional and historical significance.
Built by the French in the late 1800s, it was once known as Maison Centrale—a harsh prison for Vietnamese revolutionaries.

Later, during the American War, it became known internationally as the “Hanoi Hilton.”
Inside, exhibits and preserved rooms reveal powerful stories of courage, resilience, and sacrifice.

II) Vietnam Visa notes

At Chapi, we offer a hassle-free visa application service to make your trip planning smooth and straightforward. Below are your options under the most recent Vietnam visa policy:

E-Visa (For Most Nationalities)

Since August 2023, visitors from all countries can apply for the official online E-Visa — valid up to 90 days, single or multiple entries.

Why choose E-Visa? It’s fast and fully digital — just apply at the government portal (https://evisa.gov.vn), then present your digital visa document and valid passport upon arrival.

Let us help: We can handle the application for you, making sure everything is correct and submitted smoothly.

Visa-Free Entry (For Some Nationalities)

As of 2025, nationals from certain European and South East Asian countries are granted visa-free entry for stays up to 45 days (tourism), under the government’s new visa-exemption programmes.

If this applies to you: No visa needed — simply meet passport validity and entry requirements.

We can help confirm whether your nationality is on the exemption list.

Urgent Visa Services

If you need your visa quickly (e.g. last-minute trips or your evisa is not ready before your flight), we offer expedited services — for E-Visa or an approval letter off visa on arrival. We can fast track it, so you’re ready in time. This can even be done within an hour.

Important Reminders:

Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Vietnam.

Need help figuring out which visa option suits you best? Just contact us — we’re happy to advise based on your travel dates, nationality, and preferences.
