Authentic tastes, local markets, and Hanoi’s vibrant street life
Time: 08:30 AM – ~13:00 PM
Type: Private or small group | Walking tour | Local expert guide
08:30 AM: Hotel pick up and travel to Chau Long Market
Your culinary adventure begins at the hotel lobby when our guide pick you up and travel to Chau Long Market, a lively, authentic market tucked away from the tourist paths. Here, you’ll witness the heartbeat of daily life in Hanoi — locals bargaining over fresh produce, aromatic herbs, live seafood, and exotic fruits.
Your guide will introduce you to unique ingredients used in Northern Vietnamese cuisine, share market stories, and maybe let you try some quick street snacks if you’re curious!
09:00 AM — Pho Gà Breakfast Stop
Just steps away from Chau Long Market, we stop at a local favorite spot for Pho Gà, Hanoi-style chicken noodle soup.
This humble eatery serves up a light yet flavorful broth, tender shredded chicken, and silky rice noodles — a comforting way to start the day. Enjoy a small, perfectly portioned bowl as your first taste of Hanoi’s breakfast culture.
09:45 AM — Walk Toward the Old Quarter & Dong Xuan Market Visit
We stroll through atmospheric streets toward the historic Dong Xuan Market — the largest covered market in Hanoi.
Here you’ll see a fascinating mix: dried food ingredients like mushrooms, spices, noodles, along with household goods, clothes, and daily essentials. Your guide will explain the role of Dong Xuan in local life and how it fuels Hanoi’s vibrant street food scene.
10:30 AM — Bánh Cuốn at a Generational Family Shop
Next, it’s time to savor Bánh Cuốn, an iconic Hanoi breakfast dish.
We visit a long-standing, family-run bánh cuốn eatery. Watch as delicate rice sheets are steamed to perfection, filled with minced pork and mushrooms, then topped with crispy shallots. Dip it into a light fish sauce and enjoy this subtle yet flavorful treat — best eaten fresh in the morning!
11:30 AM — Bun Cha Experience
Continue your food adventure with one of Hanoi’s signature dishes: Bún Chả.
At a local eatery famous among locals, enjoy grilled pork patties and slices of pork belly served in a fragrant broth, with a side of fresh herbs and vermicelli noodles. The smoky aroma and perfect balance of sweet-sour flavors will win you over instantly!
12:00 AM — Vietnamese Dessert Treat
Before our final coffee break, we sweeten the experience with a stop at a beloved local dessert spot.
Try a refreshing “Chè” — a traditional Vietnamese sweet soup made from a mix of ingredients such as mung beans, black beans, coconut milk, jelly, and seasonal fruits. Whether served warm or over ice, it’s the perfect way to cool down and enjoy a burst of local flavors.
12:30 PM — Coffee on Train Street
To complete your flavorful morning, we head to the famous Train Street of Hanoi.
Relax at a cozy café perched right beside the railway tracks. Sip on Hanoi’s legendary Egg Coffee or a traditional black coffee while soaking in the unique atmosphere of this iconic location. Watch as life buzzes by, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch the train passing through!
13:00 – 13:30 PM — Tour Ends
Your guide will happily give you recommendations for the rest of your day or assist with directions back to your hotel. The morning ends on a high note, full of flavors, culture, and unforgettable moments.
Enhance your Hanoi experience with one of these activities (bookable after touring Hoa Lo Prison):
Cyclo Ride (45 mins) – $8/person
A relaxing ride around the Old Quarter’s narrow, vibrant streets.
Water Puppet Show (50 mins) – $8/person

II) Vietnam Visa notes
At Chapi, we offer a hassle-free visa application service to make your trip planning smooth and straightforward. Below are your options under the most recent Vietnam visa policy:
E-Visa (For Most Nationalities)
Since August 2023, visitors from all countries can apply for the official online E-Visa — valid up to 90 days, single or multiple entries.
Why choose E-Visa? It’s fast and fully digital — just apply at the government portal (https://evisa.gov.vn), then present your digital visa document and valid passport upon arrival.
Let us help: We can handle the application for you, making sure everything is correct and submitted smoothly.
Visa-Free Entry (For Some Nationalities)
As of 2025, nationals from certain European and South East Asian countries are granted visa-free entry for stays up to 45 days (tourism), under the government’s new visa-exemption programmes.
If this applies to you: No visa needed — simply meet passport validity and entry requirements.
We can help confirm whether your nationality is on the exemption list.
Urgent Visa Services
If you need your visa quickly (e.g. last-minute trips or your evisa is not ready before your flight), we offer expedited services — for E-Visa or an approval letter off visa on arrival. We can fast track it, so you’re ready in time. This can even be done within an hour.
Important Reminders:
Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Vietnam.

The best time to visit Vietnam depends on the regions you plan to explore and the experiences you’re looking for. Northern Vietnam (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Sapa): The ideal months are September to November and March to May, when the weather is pleasantly cool and skies are clear — perfect for sightseeing and outdoor adventures. Central Vietnam (Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An): The best time to visit is February to August, with warm, sunny days ideal for beach trips and cultural exploration. Southern Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc): The most comfortable period is December to April, during the dry season with plenty of sunshine. Thanks to its varied climate, Vietnam is a year-round destination — no matter when you come, there’s always a beautiful place waiting to be explored.
